Blog tour: ‘Meeting Meg,’ by Nicola Baker, illustrated by Rachael Dean.

Introducing the third title in Baker’s ‘Whistledown Farm’ series, where Ava and the farm’s animal inhabitants move into Summer. One of a cosy collection of farmyard adventures inspired by life on her Chiltern Hills smallholding.

“It’s summer at Whistledown Farm and there’s plenty for Ava to do – from helping to shear the sheep to baling the hay. But then she meets a litter of border collie pups and suddenly the sunny days get a lot more complicated . . .”

This is a fantastic series for readers who are growing in confidence and looking for a longer novel to get drawn into. The text is well-spaced with a liberal dose of Rachael Dean’s gorgeous illustrations scattered throughout to bring the characters to life.

Animal adventures never fail to engage young readers, so I know they will love following Ava’s adventures and meeting the cuddly cast of creatures. Baker strikes just the right balance of farmyard capers, friendship, and fun.

Highly recommend for readers aged 8+ and for fans of Holly Webb or Michael Morpurgo.

*Many thanks to Simon & Schuster for sending me this title to review*
