The lovely folks at Nosy Crow very kindly sent me a selection of their Christmas titles to review, nestled amongst them were two titles just perfect for the very littlest fans of the festive season.
‘Pip and Posy – The Christmas Tree’ by Axel Scheffler
Pip and Posy are back in a very special Christmas tale. After heading out in the snow to fetch a Christmas tree, the two friends head back home to bake some special biscuits to hang on it. Once they’ve been iced, they look very pretty. Posy heads off to fetch some candy canes but when she returns, one of the biscuits has disappeared. What in earth’s going on? Full of things to count and a gentle lesson about telling the truth.
‘Where’s Santa Claus?’ By Ingela P Arrhenius
I love this series of books from Nosy Crow. Bright, bold and engaging, with the most glorious cut-out felt flaps and a special surprise on the last page! The tough board pages make this book extra chewable.
In this festive delight, we’re on the lookout for a whole host of wintry characters, including, of course, Santa Claus.
I know just the two little people to give these to this Christmas.

*Many thanks to Nosy Crow for sending me these titles to review*
We do like books with a moral, or that teach gently right and wrong. The Pip and Posy tale reminds me of a childhood situation, but I bet there is a nicer outcome in this book. I love the use of felt and other tactile materials in books, something we lose when we get older and maybe should investigate once more?
