‘Wolf’ by Tommy Donbavand

I’m writing this review as part of a month-long blog tour packed with special features, reviews and giveaways to raise awareness of author Tommy Donbavand as he battles cancer.

Tommy is the author of the popular 13-book Scream Street series for 7 to 10 year olds, published by Walker Books in the UK and Candlewick Press in the US. His other books include Zombie!, Wolf and Uniform (winner of the Hackney Short Novel Award) for Barrington Stoke, Boredom Busters and Quick Fixes For Kids’ Parties (How To Books), and Making A Drama Out Of A Crisis (Network Continuum).

This werewolf tale with bite, has been specially written for Barrington Stoke publishers who specialise in books for dyslexic readers but actually also produce short, snappy reads which are perfect for any type of reader.

Adam had been planning on just grabbing a snack and playing some video games before tea.  He absolutely DID NOT plan on doing any of the following:

  1. Growing claws
  2. Growing fur
  3. Growing a tail

4. Developing a strange sensitivity to full moons!

You’d think his parents would have been surprised by his sudden…transformation.  But, in fact, they seem to have been expecting it…!

This story is not for the faint-hearted! It reels you in and gets its teeth into you from the get-go.

Adam’s parents may have been behaving suspiciously, even violently, but even I wasn’t expecting the twist at the end!

Enjoy with caution (perhaps not on the eve of a full moon!)

Book Boy.
