‘Narwhal and Jelly,’ by Ben Clanton.

I was very excited to open an excellent bundle of Narwhal and Jelly goodies last week.  Nearly as excited as Book Boy Who, despite being ill, grabbed the two graphic novels which had been carefully wrapped up and started reading them immediately.  Much giggling ensued!

Finding graphic novels suitable for younger readers can be very tricky but the Narwhal and Jelly series would definitely be perfect for anyone aged 6+

There are currently two titles available starring this super-cute duo.  The first is called ‘Narwhal – Unicorn of the Sea!’ and the second is ‘Super Narwhal and Jelly Jolt.’

In the first book we discover how the two unlikely marine animals become friends and why they set about forming their own pod of awesomeness.  There’s also the time to learn a few new facts about the narwhal (aka the unicorn of the sea.)

The second instalment contains three mini adventures for readers to enjoy. Narwhal reveals his secret superhero alter-ego and soon sets about trying to find out what his superpower could be (with a little help from Jelly.) He then uses his superpower for good rather than evil and helps out his friends.

Full of jokes, laughs and fin-tastic action. A great introduction to the wonderful world of graphic novels for readers aged 6+ and beyond.

Library Girl.

*Many thanks to Egmont for sending me these titles to review*
