Blog Tour: ‘The Questioneers: Iggy Peck and the Mysterious Mansion,’ by Andrea Beaty, illustrated by David Roberts.

BE0C3F5C-B480-4CC4-B9BA-FDECDF81642EThe Questioneers are back for another mystery-packed adventure and I have a peek at the first chapter – just for you!  This time our favourite child-architect, Iggy Peck, is taking the lead.

When Ada Twist’s Aunt Bernice inherits an old house full of rooms from all of Iggy’s favourite architectural periods, his head’s swirling with design plans. There’s only one problem – the mansion is rumoured to be seriously haunted!

It would also seem that a lot of the valuable antiques which were to pay for the house’s upkeep have also gone missing.  If they cannot be recovered,  Aunt Bernice may lose the house.  It will take the skills and knowledge of all The Questioneers to help solve the mystery and find the treasures.

I love it when a picture book inspires a series of longer books for older fans.  The original ‘Iggy Peck, Architect’ and the rest of the picture book gang are fantastic, so it’s brilliant that these familiar characters continue to pop up and have even more adventures in first chapter book form. The inspiring STEM concept and stunning illustrations make this series a real winner for readers aged six and up.

Now it’s time for you to enjoy the first chapter:
