Blog tour: ‘Swarm Enemy,’ by Tim Peake and Steve Cole.

If you know any fans of fast-paced, action-packed reads such as the Alex Rider series who are in need of a new title to enjoy, look no further than ‘Swarm.’ Just as nail-biting, just as funny, but with a Sci-Fi twist. Written by astronaut Tim Peake and author Steve Cole.

‘When Danny’s best friend Jamila goes missing, and no one remembers she exists, Danny knows the alien Swarm are back on Earth. They’ve tracked the digital energy signals Jamila has been unintentionally transmitting. Her alien-enhanced DNA can be used to clone super-strong beings with super-powers, and now it’s not just the Swarm who are after her. Danny needs to find Jamila – and a new version of Adi, the friendly Swarm scout – and together they must stop both humans and aliens from destroying the human race.’

This title immediately grabbed the attention of my tween son who is currently reading it whilst on holiday. When I asked him what he liked most, he said: “It’s funny, they have cool powers, and it’s exciting.” So there you go – that’s high praise from a 13-year-old who spends most of his time playing cricket or on his phone!

I would recommend this title for readers in Year 5 and above.
