‘Anthology of Amazing Women,’ by Sandra Lawrence, illustrations by Nathan Collins.

‘Trailblazers who dared to be different.’

This year has already provided many fantastic excuses to celebrate amazing women. We’ve had the 100th anniversary of the first women gaining the right to vote in this country, and on the 8th March, it’s International Women’s Day.  If you consider these events excellent reasons to buy a new book, look no further than the ‘Anthology of Amazing Women.’

Within the pages of this beautifully illustrated anthology, you find nestled a collection of fifty of the most kick ass, awe-inspiring females ever! Spanning both history and the globe, you will find heroines from all walks of life and all spheres of achievement vying for your attention.  Guaranteed to give readers of any age a new role model to aspire to.

For the musically-inclined, you’ll find the global superstar diva that is Beyoncé:

And for those interested in people famed for their humanitarian work and courage, look no further than Malala Yousafzai – the schoolgirl who defied terrorists to get an education:

What I especially loved about this book was the fact that it had well known modern day heroines who people may already know about, but also some hidden gems of awesomeness from the past who I had previously not heard of but was totally inspired by.

Engaging, gorgeous and inspirational, covering achievements in: sport, science, the arts, politics and history, there is something there for everyone – this book is not just for girls!
