‘We Are Artists,’ by Kari Herbert.

The final biography I’ll be sharing this week is ‘We Are Artists’ – an absolute treasure trove of information and stunning artwork reproductions, celebrating 15 women artists from around the globe. It studies their lives, their art and their legacy, and looks at how their unique perspectives gave us a new way of seeing things.

The whole philosophy of this book is that everybody has it within them to become an artist. It’s simply a case of choosing your tool and remembering there are no rules!

What I loved best about this book was the way that the reader is told how each artists’ personal story helped shaped the way they worked and the artists movements they worked in. Some I had heard of, but plenty I hadn’t.

Corita Kent – nun and pop artist.

Each artist has their own mini chapter featuring a beautiful reproduction of one of their artworks.

This would be perfect for readers aged 10+ or as a gift for any budding artist to inform and inspire.
