Omar and the gang are back for their third adventure. And this one contains aliens (probably!)
When Mrs Hutchinson (aka the best teacher in the universe) is mysteriously replaced by the less than friendly Mrs Crankshaw, Omar knows that something fishy’s going on. There’s no way Mrs Hutchinson would just leave them without saying anything first. Naturally, someone needs to investigate. And those someones are Omar and the gang!
When the trio cycle out of bounds to carry out a reconnaissance mission on Mrs Hutchinson’s house, they are dismayed to find evidence which quite clearly points to an alien abduction! The only problem now will be convincing the adults around them to take their worries seriously AND discovering what’s happened to their favourite ever teacher before Omar’s whisked off to a family wedding in Pakistan! Let Operation Moon Dust commence!
This was such a fun and heart-warming read. Omar’s brilliant personality shone from the pages – I was totally captured by his cheeky sense of humour and comical observations. His imaginative take on life caused a few chuckles and raised eyebrows as I read.
One of the highlights for me was seeing Pakistan through Omar’s eyes as he visited for the first time. His sense of wonder at the bustling traffic, wonderful food and explosion of colour at the wedding transported me right there with him. Magical.
I would urge any reader aged 7+ to pick up a copy of any of the Planet Omar adventures – they’re all super-funny, full of imagination and packed with illustrations.
