Blog tour: ‘Uncle Pete and the Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep,’ by David C Flanagan, illustrated by Will Hughes.

Today I’m very pleased to be able to introduce you to Uncle Pete: explorer and extraordinary adventure-haver. And he’s just about embark on a new mission…

‘Uncle Pete and the Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep tells the story of Harry, a young boy who has never slept his entire life, no matter how hard his parents try. With all the bedtime stories, songs and milky drinks in his town exhausted – along with all the people – it’s Harry’s eccentric explorer uncle, Pete, who ultimately comes to his aid with the help of a map, a rickety old biplane, a tiny mouse companion called TM, and one very special sheep.’

This story is packed with lashings of imagination and wonderment, making it perfect for young readers just commencing their chapter book journeys. Featuring planes powered by stardust, talking mice, and a magical sheep, Uncle Pete’s quest to help find a way to get his nephew to sleep is sure to thrill anyone aged five and up.

Crazy, magical and lots of fun! Pack yourself some strawberry jam and cheese sandwiches, a tin of beans, and some clean underpants and get set to take flight with this bite-sized beauty.
